Samantha Mixan grew up on a small farm in rural Nebraska. At only 10 years old, she became a nationally ranked artistic gymnast, specializing on the uneven bars. Her training continued for many years with tumbling, group acrobatics, flexibility, hula hoop, and dance. As a young adult, she discovered elemental performace and began to express her heart through fire dancing — the spark which allowed performance art to grow into her full-time career. She has traveled to India twice, performing in over 8 different cities. Quixotic discovered her in 2011, offering numerous opportunities to expand her repertoire, which now includes aerial and contemporary dancing. She has been performing with Quixotic nationally and internationally since then. She was a featured performer in their incredibly successful show on Miami Beach at the Faena Theater, Sensatia, and currently performs there as a lead in Quixotic’s newest production, Samsara Cabaret. Samantha has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and is facisnated by people and the limits of human consciousness. She continues her journey by exploring spirituality, radical expression, and authentic kindness.
